Keith Elisberg - Bio

Age: 42

State: New Jersey

Fire Department: Fort Lee

History:  I started racing my bike when I was younger. I stopped racing after a bad crash on a BMX jump. I knocked myself unconscious. I got back into it years later with mountain biking both downhill and cross country. I received a road bike to train on and entered the Staten Island Duathlon. I placed raced home found another multisport event, never got back on a mountain bike and have been addicted since then. After being an initial responder I established a team to race in memory of the 343 FDNY Firefighters that made the supreme sacrifice on 9/11. I race these days to push my body beyond what most people consider impossible. I will not be part of any negative statistic.

Current Goals: to maintain my current heathy lifestyle of training and eating. I try to avoid high saturate fat, salty and processed foods. I wanted to race successfully even if I don't make the podium. A long term goal is maintain and improve even further my lifestyle and match my resting heart rate with my age when I turn 45. My rest pulse is 48. BP 108/60 Cholesterol at 188 with HDLs at 58.
